Our adventure bubbles up in the heart of Paso Robles wine country at Opolo Vineyards. Pop open their Celebration Collection as you kick off Valentine’s Day (or week). This bundle includes three bottles, a 2018 Mountain Zinfandel and two bottles of Opolo Sparkling that you can take and enjoy anywhere. (If you’re on the road for a Valentine’s Day trip, you can keep your bottles crisp in the mini-wine fridges in our Mercedes Sprinter.)
Is your stomach growling? No? Maybe that’s just us, but Opolo Vineyard’s Valentine’s Winemaker Dinner is making us hungry! After grabbing a glass of bubbly, you’ll want to jump into this five-course meal. Complete with live music and dancing, we’re positive that this dinner will be an excellent addition to your date. (We don’t want to get hung up on the details, but one of their courses includes pan-seared halibut topped with fresh mango chutney. Yum!)
The second stop on our search for Central Coast bubbly is Chronic Cellars. Just a short ride away from Opolo Vineyards, this modern Paso Robles winery offers two options for enjoying your sparkling wine. If you’re heading to the beach for Valentine’s Day pick up a pack of their Sparkling Cans. Or, if you’re looking to stay, pop open their bottle of Spritz and Giggles. For an added Valentine’s Day bonus, make a reservation for a VIP Tasting. During this specialty tasting, you and your date will sample special production wines carefully paired with local cheeses. The bubbly road waits for no one, so as you and your date head towards Sculpterra Winery, you can relax on leather seats with ambient lighting in our classic stretch limousine. Still located in the heart of Paso Robles, Sculpterra Winery’s bubbly paired with their unique garden sets the stage for a new kind of Valentine’s Day experience. Their Sparkling Wine carries a bouquet of toasted hazelnut with a hint of classic stone fruits. Savor a glass while you stroll through their sculpture garden, hand-in-hand with your date. This one of a kind Central Coast garden doesn’t feature plants and instead highlights wild creatures sculpted from bronze and granite. Now that’s a Valentine’s to remember!
The next Paso Robles winery that made our list: Rava Wine + Events. They produce six different sparkling wines, ranging from a Sparkling Brut Roséto a Sparkling Albariño. With such variety, it can be hard to choose just one—that’s why we recommend trying their sparkling flight! You can also get a custom cheese and charcuterie plate paired with your flight. We’ve saved the best for last on our road trip. Head over to scenic Arroyo Grande, where you’ll find Laetitia Vineyard & Winery. This winery is renowned on the Central Coast for their Méthode Champenoise sparkling wines. Here you can enjoy seven different bubbly wines, including bottles like the 2016 Laetitia Brut Coquard to the 2016 Laetitia Brut De Noirs.
