Where to go Wine Tasting in Edna Valley
Claiborne and Churchill: If you’re looking to taste alongside the barrels and learn the history of winemaking, be sure to taste at Claiborne and Churchill, where they specialize in dry white wines and pinot noir. A family-owned winery, the atmosphere there is light and accepting, and it is a great place to have a conversation while on a date. Bring a blanket to relax in the comfy grassy area, or choose a table on the back patio and appreciate their rose garden. They also make delicious port if you want to have a sweet treat for your love.
Wolff Vineyards: Take in the views of vineyard-lined rolling hills as your driver approaches the elegant Wolff Vineyards tasting room. Imagine staring off into vineyards, surrounded by beautiful foliage on top of a hill. Add a delicious glass of Petite Sirah and you’ve planted yourself at Wolff’s tasting room. While Syrahs are one of their specialties, be sure to taste their rare Italian varietals and explore the property, most likely alongside their winery dog.
Kynsi Winery: They specialize in red wines and make a delicious rose, so if you and your date are in to bold flavors, you won’t be disappointed at Kynsi. Their outdoor tasting area is quaint and intimate, allowing you to sit under a gazebo or trees to share precious moments with your favorite person. Kynsi offers a delicious charcuterie plate, perfect for two, to pair if you so choose. Learn all about the history of their Owl Tale and Bulldog Pup stories that inspire some of their wines if you are into history!
Baileyana: Enjoy one of the finest Edna Valley views on the lawn of Baileyana with a bottle and your S.O. If you plan to start your Friday date off right, buy a bottle and enjoy the sunset during their Wine-Down Friday event! Other than the few proposals we have seen (they all said yes!), you can carry on deep conversation with a charcuterie picnic, or test your partner’s arm at Bocce ball.
Tolosa Winery: If you’re looking for an elevated romance experience, we suggest visiting Tolosa’s tasting room. It all begins with a long vineyard-surrounded roadway, where your driver will open the door to their concierge-greeted lobby. You will be guided into the tasting room or panoramic view Wine Club Member room to experience the Tolosa style. This winery is known for its elegance and bold wines produced from Spanish-style grapes, and is sure to impress those who take time to taste. Try their 1776 label vintages, and bring some home for a romantic dinner at a different date!

If you want to go the extra mile – make a day of wine tasting! Hire a driver – we suggest a luxury sedan – and you’re off! Planning this day is quite easy, if you want to follow our wine trail route just say the words “Best Wine Trail in SLO” and we’ll get you there! There are plenty of ways to make this day as special as your S.O. – should we mention rose petals, gourmet catered lunch, or an adventure? (Hint: after wine tasting, have your driver take you to West Cuesta Ridge or the beach for a beautiful Central Coast sunset with a bottle you purchased earlier!).
