It’s official, we’ve seen too much of what the inside of our house/apartment look like and we’re not the only ones. Now is the perfect time for a holiday Paso Robles staycation. Avoid the airports (and traveling altogether) and enjoy local experiences. We’ve designed an itinerary with all the bells and whistles of a fun vacation right here in your backyard, whether it’s you and your significant other, or your close relatives. Get ready for some wine, delicacies, and more. It’s got a little something for everyone! As a finishing touch, we’ve also thrown in cozy accommodations in the heart of wine country, giving you a real vacation from your house.
1. Wine Tasting at Jada Vineyards
Start your holiday season by wine tasting at Jada Vineyards. You’ll find them in the pocket of the Templeton Gap/Willow Creek District. They’re a small winery focused on biodynamic farming techniques to develop sustainable excellence in all of their wines. This means that as you sip wine here, you’ll enjoy a fresh fall breeze and abundant sunshine. They are accepting reservations for a group of 6 or fewer to join them outdoors for a wine flight, or a delicious wine and cheese pairing experience. You will taste six different wines, focusing on all-estate Rhone and Bordeaux specialities. If you or your family has a dog, they are welcome to join too! Now that’s a wine tasting experience that we can raise a glass to!

2. A Wine and Spirits Tasting Experience with One Stone
Just a hop away is Willow Creek Distillery, located at Opolo Vineyards location. This Paso Robles distillery is a two for one— a phenomenal craft distillery and only steps away from more wine tasting. Enjoy fruit brandies as well as other premium liqueurs in their distillery with incredible vineyard views. Then you can hop over to the wine tasting room for another round of wine.

3. A Craft Beer and Wine Tasting Experience with One Stone
If beer and wine is more your way of life, this is the spot to visit. It’s time to make your way into the heart of Paso Robles, the downtown. Not only will you find plenty of unique shops to explore, but it’s also home to California Coast Beer and Iron Oaks Winery. They’re one of the newest craft breweries in the downtown, housed in a former auto body shop, refurbished with recycled materials, this brewery certainly makes a statement. Enjoy a cold one out on the patio with a deck made from the Pismo Pier. Right next door (and a shared patio space) is Iron Oaks Winery – a western-esque tasting room with rebellious wines. If you happen to get hungry, walk down past the cornhole game, and you will find District Deli in the Airtstream trailer serving up loaded tater tot dishes, sandwiches, and more.

4. Olive Oil Tasting at Kiler Ridge Olive Farm
Ready to mix it up with your tastings? Try olive oil tasting at Kiler Ridge Olive Farm, family-owned and operated. Enjoy your olive oil on the Paso Robles hillside overlooking miles of olive trees. During your tasting, you’ll enjoy robust and flavorful oils along with a discussion on how their olive oil is made with your tasting attendant.

5. Overnight at Manucci Family Estate Winery
A real staycation in Paso Robles isn’t complete until you sleep among the vines. At Manucci Family Estate Winery, you can do just that. Stay in one of their casitas carved into the mountaintop, overlooking acres of vineyards. End your night enjoying a drink from the distillery or a glass of wine from their wine tasting room. Then start the next day with a morning hike through trails on the mountaintop. Complete your staycation with a gourmet breakfast, yum! This is the ultimate stop for relaxation.
