Did you know that there are over 120 wineries in Santa Ynez Valley? Wondering, which ones out of 120 pour the best red wine? Wonder no more! The team and I put on our tasting hats on over the weekend to explore this very question. Here are our four favorite wineries pouring delightful reds in Santa Barbara County.
1. Sunstone Winery
Welcome to one of the oldest organic vineyards in Santa Ynez Valley! This 28-acre retreat is home to varietals like Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, and more. But they are the most well-known for their world-class Bordeaux and Rhone-style wines. They even won a Santa Barbara Independent reader poll as “Santa Barbara’s Favorite Red Wine.” Also, the majority of their wines receive 90+ ratings from Wine Enthusiast.
